Cyber Safety/Digital Citizenship

Parents of middle-schoolers often have questions and concerns about their child's overuse of screen time at home, particularly with most homework needing to be completed online. The rapidly developing world of technology puts all of us in a bind of trying to both stay current and be mindful of our students. If this is presenting as a particular problem for your child, please contact us.

At this stage, kids are naturally beginning to test limits and phones are a perfect platform for them. It is highly recommended that you have your child's passwords for all devices and that you check their use periodically. If your child reports or you see online interactions between students that concern you, please let us know. Even though this may occur outside of the school building, these situations can deeply impact how your and other students are able to learn.

Questions about "appropriate" use of screen time?  https://www.commonsensemedia.org is a fabulous resource for schools and families.
